Operation Christmas Child

We are on location this week! Jane, Carrie and Judi (along with Logan!) visited the work site where hundreds of volunteers gathered to pack Christmas boxes to send to children who may otherwise receive nothing. It was a very moving experience to see all of the people--old and young alike--who were there working to make a difference in the lives of children across the world.

You can watch it online here, or view it on Up North Channel 2 Sunday at 10:30 AM, Wednesday at 10:30 PM and Friday at 7:00 PM.

Giving Thanks.

Being grateful is easy when things are going smoothly in our lives. But when there's a bump in the road, that's when we really need to take a long, hard look at what God has done for us and live our lives with genuine thanksgiving.

Our special guest Sarah Holmes tells her story of being a mom to four children, including a son who survived the impossible, with grace and affection. You can watch the show here.

How Do You Pray?

How do you pray? Do you have special quiet time in the morning? Are you like me and you chat with God all throughout the day? Do you journal your prayers so you can look back and recognize where and how God worked in your life?

Some people are intimidated by prayer. They have so much reverance for the Lord, that they fail to go to him as their Father in Heaven. Others are able to pray on the spot in front of others as they feel led by the Holy Spirit.
When I was growing up, we had "family prayer" every Friday night. All eight kids and mom and dad would kneel in a circle and take turns praying. As I have grown older, I have backed away from praying in front of others, but have made the decision to change that. My own little family has begun our own "family prayer" tradition at dinner each evening. I can already see the difference it is making.

Please share with us how you pray now, how your prayer life has evolved over the years or prayers you need from us. Make sure you watch this week's show on prayer with our special guest Jennifer Stoll. You can find it here.

Are You Ready For Some Bible Study?

One of the roadblocks to bible study I hear most often is this: “I don’t even know where to begin.”

It can be overwhelming, I know. Do you start out by reading a book of the bible? Should you do a topical study? Are their special tools you need for an effective study? Is it important to study at the same time every day and for the same length of time? Should you have a special place for your study?

The answers are going to be different for everyone. Some people prefer to study one-on-one with God. They want to be fully in His word and listening to Him all by themselves. Others prefer a small-group setting giving them the opportunity to share with and learn from others. While others still like to meet in a large group where they can benefit from others knowledge and experience, but can also stay a bit in the background until they are comfortable.

As far as where and when? Do it where you can and when you can. You may be blessed to have peaceful morning time where you can do your study before the day takes over and gets busy.

When I was in sales, I carried a big, red bag in my car. In it, you would find my Bible, a devotional, my journal, my current Bible study and a couple articles I had printed. As my day allowed depending on my appointments, I would find a place to stop and enjoy my lunch time while I studied. It was perfect for me-a busy mom who worked outside of the home. It’s just important that you find what will work best for you.

This week’s show is all about Bible study. Our special guest, Patti Damiani talks about her experiences leading Bible studies, and our group shares what study we are currently involved in. You can view it right here.

How Do You Share Your Faith?

This week's episode focuses on how we each share our faith as Christians. What we learned is that the five of us do it in our own, unique and individual way. We let God use us as He needs and where He needs.

The show includes a very special guest. Jessi Lempke is a high school senior and she shares what it's like to be a Christian in the public schools. She has an amazing and inspiring story that you will be blessed by watching. You can watch it right here!
